About Me:

I grew up listening to my Dad's Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, and Eddie Arnold records…long before CD’s.  By High School I rebelled and went Rock-N-Roll, but you can’t keep the “Country” out of the boy!  Randy Travis, The Judds, early George Strait, and Garth pulled me all the way back to “Country”, where I belong.

My wife and I moved here in June of 2004 with our pets and I'm lovin’ New Orleans!  Partly because I LOVE to eat, and because it’s just a cool city.

You can hear me from 10am til 2pm weekdays.  I hope you’ll tune in where ever you are…at work, in the car, or just hangin’ out.  I’ll play a lot of great music and keep you informed on what’s going on around town.

Back from vacation
Monday 08-11-2008 10:21am CT
Hi.  Spent a week in Destin.  Ran into lots of folks from here.  Water was really rough, partially thanks to Eduardo.  Sad, how many people drowned in the rip currents.  If you still have a beach vacation planned for this summer, please obey the lifeguards and beach flags.

Does your dog have recurring ear infections?
Friday 04-04-2008 5:44pm CT
Have you had to take your dog back to the vet every couple months for more anti-biotics or anti-fungals?  Maybe your dog has a food allergy.  Mine did!!!  I'm NOT a vet and this is not canine medical advice, but you might find it useful.  After years of 4-5 vet visits a year for ear infections, we found some online resources that indicated some breeds are very susceptible to ear infections as the result of food allergies to corn, wheat, beef, and chicken...all very common ingredients in most dog foods.  After switching her to a diet without those components and giving her a benadryl a day (she's 34 lbs.) we've pretty much eliminated the ear infections!!!  Look it up.  Do an internet search for "canine food allergy symptoms".
Lakeview goes to the dogs Wednesday
Tuesday 08-12-2008 12:58pm CT
The Harrison Avenue Marketplace monthly event welcomes your pets this Wednesday (8/13)

"Who let the dogs out? Woof, Woof, Woof, Woof.  Whether you are cheering with this familiar refrain for the Saints, Hornets, Tigers, Green Wave or Privateers, we can all bark it at the
next Harrison Avenue Marketplace where we unleash the Dog Days of Summer and our second anniversary celebration.  On Wednesday, August 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM the Marketplace returns with a howl featuring everything canine for our loyal best friends.

The event begins with the sultry rhythm and blues of Beebe's supper club famous house band, The Mack Pack.  A misting tent, doggie pools, and water bowls will keep our furry friends cool as they walk the pet promenade and poop palace.  Special treats and bites can be gobbled up at the lappy hour café provided by Most Delightful Foods.   There will be two pet pageants with the competitive categories of Silly Dog Tricks and Cool Canine Collars.  Various pet rescue and adoption agencies including the LASPCA will be there to offer their support services as well as the caring medical attention of Lakeview Veterinary Clinic who has generously sponsored the VIP tent.

All of our anchor vendors will return featuring their fabulous food, beautiful arts, handmade crafts, and abundant neighborhood services that are the hallmark of this unique market.  All leashed pets are always welcome, just be prepared to provide poop package pick-up please.  And the many Kid's Corner activities will be hosted through a cooperative venture between St. Paul's and Lakeview Christian Center

Redneck Woman sings "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"

Gretchen Wilson is competing in ESPN's Battle Of The Bands singing "Take Me Out To the Ball Game".  Is it me, or does it sound like 80's rocker Joan Jett?
